About us

From Local Concern to Trusted Water Purification Experts

Our warm welcome to Aqua Needs RO where our mission is simple: to make clean, safe drinking
water accessible to every home and business.

Our journey began in 2009, right here in Puducherry, when we realized how many families were still
relying on unsafe or unreliable water sources. With rising pollution and hard water issues affecting
health across the region, we knew something had to change.
That’s when we decided to combine passion with purpose and started Aqua Needs RO.

Today, we’re proud to be a trusted name in RO filters and water purification solutions, known for
our quality, transparency, and reliable after-sales service. We don’t just sell machines; we deliver
peace of mind.

What is RO Process?

Reverse osmosis (RO) is a method of water purification that eliminates ions, undesirable molecules, and larger particles from drinking water through the use of a semi-permeable membrane. This process retains the solute on the pressurized side of the membrane while allowing the pure solvent to flow to the opposite side.

Reverse osmosis derives its name from its function, which is the inverse of the natural osmosis process. In osmosis, water naturally moves from a region of lower solute concentration to one of higher concentration across a semi-permeable membrane. Conversely, reverse osmosis compels water to move from a region of higher solute concentration to one of lower concentration by applying pressure that exceeds the osmotic pressure.

This filtration technique effectively uses pressure to drive water molecules through a semi-permeable membrane, thereby leaving behind contaminants such as salts, bacteria, and viruses. The process establishes a concentration gradient that facilitates the movement of water from the side with higher concentration (containing impurities) to the side with lower concentration (resulting in
purified water).

Osmosis is a natural phenomenon where water transitions from an area of low solute concentrationto one of high solute concentration to achieve equilibrium, while reverse osmosis forces water to flow in the opposite direction, from high to low solute concentration, through the application of external pressure.
